Annotto Bay Tax Office Reopens at New Location

After months of being closed, the Annotto Bay Tax Office now has a new home at Bank Lane, Annotto Bay, St. Mary. The relocation and reopening ensures greater convenience and improved customer service experience, bolstered by services such as an information booth, Q-matic system as well as additional personnel for cashiering and taxpayer service. It also offers improved aesthetics with a larger Banking Hall, seating for customers and a wheelchair ramp.

The ‘official opening’ held on February 21, 2025, follows a “soft opening” in December 2024. His Worship, Mayor Fitzroy Wilson welcomed the reopening of the Tax Office and stated that ‘I’m happy for the re-opening and I am celebrating the moment with pride and gratitude. The occasion marks a significant step forward in the ongoing effort to enhance public service delivery and improve accessibility for the hard working citizens of Annotto Bay and its environs. The re-opening is a symbol of growth, efficiency and progress as it shows commitment and that residents have access in a convenient manner’. 

TAJ’s Deputy Commissioner General for Operations Mr. Dave Jeffery and Deputy Commissioner General for Corporate Services Mrs. Judith Smith-Richards, along with members of the business community were in attendance. The DCG Operations made a charge to the staff, to ensure the facility/space is always properly maintained and to offer service that is a reflection of the Authority’s Vision, while the DCG Corporate Services stated that the office will eventually be ISO Certified, indicating that the office will meet international regulatory requirements and customer service standards. The new location now offers the following services:

• Property Tax,
• Trade/Spirit Licence,
• Motor Vehicle Transactions
• and TRN Application (same day assignment of number and letter). 

Plans are advanced to offer Drivers Licence Transactions (to include same day service) in the first quarter of the new fiscal year. The opening hours remain:

• Mondays to Wednesdays from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm,
• Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 am - 3:00 pm.
