Christiana Tax Office receives strong response from Customers in the first month at its new location

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) wishes to advise that the new Christiana Tax Office is now open at its new location in Struan Castle, as of February 23, 2026. During the first month of operation, the Office recorded a strong and encouraging response from customers, with many persons taking advantage of the suite of services available.

As at March 25, 2026, a total of 9,636 customers were served after being issued tickets through a new integrated queue management system for motor vehicle, driver’s licence and other transactions. The high number of tickets issued reflects the significant demand for services in Christiana and surrounding communities.

Customers are also benefiting from several new features designed to improve efficiency and convenience. These include a self-service kiosk which allows persons to complete certain tax transactions independently, a seated waiting area as well as the new queue management system that helps to better organize the customer service process.

Notably, the Christiana Tax Office is now printing and issuing driver’s licences on location, a service that is new for this Tax Office. In its first week, the office completed 468 driver’s licence transactions. Additionally, 387 motor vehicle transactions were conducted during the same period, further demonstrating the steady flow of customers and the efficiency of the operations.

Other services offered include tax-related transactions and queries. A total of 1,954 customers also utilized the newly introduced Express Line at the cashier.

Customers have been expressing their satisfaction with the new facility. A taxpayer, Collin Bryan shared, “My experience here is very good, the ambiance, the space and the service is great.”
The opening of the Christiana Tax Office represents an important step in improving the operations of essential tax and motor vehicle services for the people of north-eastern Manchester and neighbouring areas.
