Current Property Tax Liabilities are now available

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising those taxpayers paying their 2016/17 Property Tax online that the system has now been updated to reflect their current Property Tax liabilities. A system error had delayed the usual April 1 posting of this year’s information to coincide with the due date.

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is again reminding property owners that although Property Tax for 2016-2017 becomes due April 1, persons have until the end of April to pay and avoid a 10% penalty, which may be applied. Amounts to be paid remain the same as last year as there has been no increase in property tax rates.

Property owners are reminded that they have the option of paying their current property tax in half-yearly instalments on April 1 and October 1 or in quarterly instalments on April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1.

Persons are also urged to pay their outstanding property taxes owed for previous years or make an arrangement to do so.
