Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) wishes to advise employers that an enhanced S01 Form has been designed for the monthly statutory remittance payroll deductions by them and/or their agents for March 2020 and subsequent months. The enhanced form has been introduced to support the validation process that will be required for the Government of Jamaica’s CARE programme.
The enhanced S01 form, which is now available on the tax portal www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, includes a Schedule which must be completed to capture details related to the emoluments, deductions and PAYE taxes & statutory contributions for ALL employees on staff during the month of March, which becomes due on April 14, 2020 and for subsequent monthly payroll declarations.
However, in recognizing the short notice, the tax authority will allow Employers to submit their S01 Declarations up to Tuesday, April 21, 2020, however payment MUST be made on the normal due date of April 14. Persons making payments prior to the filing of the enhanced S01 may create a Payment Advice to do so. Persons are reminded that the Form S01 must be submitted online and that payments may also be made online via the TAJ website.
Employers are encouraged to take note that the additional Schedule that is now required to accompany the enhanced S01 is similar to the S02 Schedule A. An excel template is provided to assist employers with a large staff complement to upload the required data. Additionally, a “How To” guide is available to assist persons to file and upload the enhanced Form S01.
The new form that was rolled out earlier today, has already been filed by over 400 employers as of 3:00 pm today. The TAJ will continue working with employers to guide them through the new process.
