Further Update on Shortage of Private Licence Plates

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) wishes to advise the public that in light of the shortage of Private Motor Vehicle Licence Plates at its offices across the island, persons in possession of their old licence plates are being encouraged to use those plates to proceed with the transaction of licencing their motor vehicles.

They are also advised to speak with the Collector of Taxes to discuss any difficulties being encountered.

The local supplier has advised that there is a further delay in the supply of raw material, which is sourced from overseas. Following discussions, it has been confirmed that a shipment is expected in the island next week.

TAJ has put strategies in place to quickly distribute the licence plates to its various offices,once they have been delivered by the supplier.
