GCT Returns for February due Thursday March 29

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reminding the public that GCT Returns for the month of February are due on Thursday March 29, 2018. This is in keeping with the requirement for registered taxpayers to make their monthly GCT Returns and payments on the last working day of the month, after the end of the taxable period.

Taxpayers are therefore advised that GCT returns filed and paid after the last working day of the month, will be considered late and the necessary penalties and interest charges applied.

TAJ continues to make it easy for persons to file their taxes by using our online option. Business Operators can log on to the Tax Portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm to file. Persons are also able to pay online using a valid credit card or via Automated Clearing House (ACH). In addition to the online option, business persons are reminded that GCT Returns may be filed and paid at any of the 29 Tax Offices. Persons paying by cheque may also pay using the electronic drop boxes located in main tax offices or direct banking.

Business persons are being encouraged to use our online filing option, as beginning next month ALL GCT returns will be mandated to be filed online. Taxpayers are being reminded that Tax Administration’s online service accommodates the filing and payment of all major tax types.
