Millions Recovered from Delinquent Taxpayers

Tax Administration Jamaica’s (TAJ) Special Enforcement Team (SET) recently conducted joint operations with the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in the parishes of St. Mary, Manchester and Clarendon. Several taxpayers had warrants of disobedience and judgement orders executed on them to recover outstanding tax amounts of approximately $7.89 Million.

TAJ continues to carry out enforcement activities to ensure the protection of the revenue. Taxpayers are therefore encouraged to speak with the tax authority to make suitable arrangements, if they are faced with difficulties in honouring their tax obligations, particularly where a judgement has been handed down by the Court. Failure to comply with a Court Order will result in enforcement action by the Special Enforcement Team to seek warrants of disobedience.
