Over 45 Taxpayers Arrested during TAJ/MOCA Joint Operations

Tax Administration Jamaica’s (TAJ) Special Enforcement Team (SET) and members of the Major Organized Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), have been conducting a joint operation in the parish of St. Ann. The operation designated “Garden Clean-up” targeted 62 chronically delinquent taxpayers who failed to obey Court Orders.

The joint team today arrested thirteen (13) taxpayers bringing the total number to forty-seven (47) persons taken into custody since the operation began several weeks ago. Twelve (12) taxpayers have avoided spending time in jail by settling their outstanding taxes, however three (3) taxpayers are still being pursued by the TAJ/MOCA team.

Following this operation, Tax Administration Jamaica will now shift its focus to other parishes as it continues to ensure the protection of the revenue through its enforcement activities.
