TAJ Announces Temporary Suspension of Driver’s Licence Processing on October 21

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising members of the public that due to delays encountered during a scheduled maintenance activity related to the Driver’s Licence system, Tax Offices will not be able to process Driver’s Licence transactions on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

The maintenance activity which was expected to be completed, tested, and implemented on Monday, October 20, experienced unexpected technical issues that have delayed its completion.

This disruption affects all Tax Offices islandwide and applies to both new Driver’s Licences and renewals. All other services including payment of taxes and other related motor vehicle transactions remain available.

The Tax Authority reassures the public that a dedicated team is currently working to have the matter resolved and to restore full service in the shortest possible time.
