TAJ apologises for online Property Tax system glitch

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is apologising to taxpayers intending to pay their 2016/17 Property Tax online. Unfortunately, taxpayers will be unable to view their current Property Tax liability which is usually posted online on April 1 of each year, as a result of a system error. Our service provider is aware of the situation and has given an assurance that the information will be available online no later than April 2.

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is however reminding property owners that although Property Tax for the 2016-2017 fiscal year is due April 1, persons have until the end of April to pay and avoid a 10% penalty, which may be applied. Amounts to be paid remain the same as last year as there has been no increase in property tax rates.

Property owners are reminded that they have the option of paying their property tax in halfyearly instalments on April 1 and October 1 or in quarterly instalments on April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1.
