TAJ begins suspension of some services to upgrade systems As of September 1, 2016, Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) will begin conducting upgrading activities for the September 5 roll out of phase three of its Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS). Customers are advised that during this transition period, several services will be limited or suspended to facilitate the system upgrades.

As a result, taxpayers will be unable to carry out certain transactions relating to TRN, TCC, Zero-rating, Exemption Certificates and e-services in relation to Income,  Education, Payroll, Minimum Business and Asset Taxes during the period. Additionally, in order to facilitate the system cut-over, the Portmore Tax Office will NOT be open on Saturday September 3, 2016.

The schedule of affected services is as follows:

Taxpayers are therefore advised to delay conducting related transactions until after the transition period ends, as TAJ works to improve its service efficiency and delivery with even greater convenience and security.

Once the system upgrades have been completed on September 5, taxpayers will be able to do even more online. RAIS phase 3 will include Withholding Tax, Stamp Duty and Transfer Tax, Environmental Protection Levy, Betting, Gaming and Lottery Taxes, as well as Trade and Business Licences as part of the new service options.
