TAJ holds focus group session to review revised GCT Forms

As Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) prepares to introduce its new Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS), a focus group session was held at its head office on Monday, November 3, 2014, with select accountants and taxpayers to review revised GCT forms. Participants included representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) Tax Committee, accountants, as well as individuals who prepare their own GCT return.

The fifteen (15) external stakeholders who participated in the session examined the changes to the GCT Forms 4A for General, 4D for Tourism Activities and 4E for General Insurance Activities gave their feedback and recommendations. Their comments will be considered in finalising the revision to the GCT forms.

The changes to the GCT forms are in line with recent legislative amendments and reflect the continued effort by the government to make it easier to do business. The revised forms are to be implemented to coincide with the phase one roll out of RAiS, scheduled for February 9, 2015.
