TAJ Systems in Place for Traffic Ticket Amnesty

With the Traffic Ticket Amnesty now in effect, August 2 – October 31, 2017, Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising motorists that its systems have been updated to allow payments for outstanding traffic tickets, dating back to September 2010. These payments may be made online at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, using any valid internationally accepted credit card, provided that the traffic ticket number is reflected. Additionally, persons may visit any tax office island wide to make payments by presenting their traffic ticket or by providing the ticket number for easy processing.

During the amnesty period TAJ will open on some Saturdays, starting August 12, at several tax offices from 10am-4pm, to facilitate the payment of traffic tickets. These offices include:

• St. Andrew
• Montego Bay
• Mandeville
• Savanna-la-mar
• Spanish Town
• May Pen
• St. Ann’s Bay
• Portmore

Persons will also be able to conduct other transactions as they would during the week, these include; Property Tax payment, Motor Vehicle Registration, Driver’s Licence Renewal as well as the usual Taxpayer Service Support. However, compliance and audit services will NOT be available during Saturday operations.
