Tax Administration Jamaica Supports Traffic Ticket Day Initiative

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) was pleased to partner with the Judiciary of Jamaica in its Traffic Ticket Day initiative for Kingston and St. Andrew, held July 7 and 8 as part of an initiative aimed at reducing backlog of outstanding traffic ticket matters, providing motorists an opportunity to settle unpaid traffic ticket fines efficiently.

Throughout the two-day event, TAJ representatives were on location to assist customers by providing information on relevant traffic ticket payments and responding to customer queries. 

Motorists are reminded that they have up to 30 days from the date the ticket is issued to pay their current traffic ticket at Tax Administration Jamaica. Once the 30-day period has elapsed, the matter falls within the purview of the courts, and customers will be required to follow the court's prescribed process for settlement.

The Tax Authority is encouraging motorists to take advantage of its convenient online payment options to settle traffic tickets within 30 days via the following options:

• www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, using a debit or credit card
• TAJ Mobile App, available on Android only

Customers may also pay traffic tickets in person at any Tax Office islandwide.
