Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is reminding business persons that the following payments are due on or before Thursday, September 15, 2016

  • Estimated Corporate Income Tax (3rd quarter)
  • Self Employed Statutory Payments (3rd quarter SO3)
  • Minimum Business Tax (2nd Half)
Persons are being encouraged to use the online option, as the TAJ portal has been enhanced through the Revenue Administration Information System (RAiS) to facilitate the filing and payment of all major tax types, including Income Tax, Statutory Payments and Minimum Business Tax (MBT). Individuals can now log on to the Tax Portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm from the convenience of their home or office, at any time, to pay taxes using a valid credit card.

Business persons are being reminded that tax payments may also be made at any of the 29 tax offices. Persons paying by cheque may do so using the electronic drop boxes located in main tax offices.

Taxpayers are advised to honour their tax obligations by making these payments on or before Thursday September 15. Failure to comply may result in interest and penalty charges being automatically applied by TAJ’s RAiS.

Persons requiring assistance, to use RAiS to make payments or to submit their tax returns online, may review the “How To” guides posted on the TAJ website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm or to contact the TAJ Customer Care Centre at 1-888-Tax-Help (1-888-829-4357). Additionally, persons may get eOne-on-One assistance from a Taxpayer Education Officer.

TAJ will this month continue to engage several categories of taxpayers through a series of events scheduled for Kingston, St. Andrew, Portland and St. James during its September Agenda. The September Agenda continues with TAJ’s participation in a Taxation Seminar, being hosted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica on September 15. TAJ will be making a presentation on RAiS and will provide hands on demonstrations and registration for online services at ‘Tax Spots’, which will be set up at the seminar. Several other engagements are planned during the month.
