Expansion of Operations at King Street Tax Office

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has now acquired two additional spaces (shops 35 and 36) on the Kingston Mall, to expand the physical aspects of its operations at the Kingston Revenue Service Centre (KRSC) in Downtown Kingston.

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has now acquired two additional spaces (shops 35 and 36) on the Kingston Mall, to expand the physical aspects of its operations at the Kingston Revenue Service Centre (KRSC) in Downtown Kingston. This will provide improved service delivery as the Tax Authority has several sections of its operations at that location, thereby making it easier to do business with the provision of improved facilities and increased space.

The services being provided at the additional locations include:

  • Processing of TRN (Supplemental)
  • Drivers Licence renewal Drop Off/Pick Up
  • Discharge of lien o Title sign-off

The Tax Authority is reporting a significant bolster to its service delivery at the location since the expansion of its operational space, as TAJ personnel are better able to process transactions faster and more efficiently. This has resulted in the Authority being able to better mitigate the crowding factor at the location, since the start of the Covid19 pandem in the country.

Customers are reminded to follow the instructions of staff and security personnel, as the organization continues to observe the Covid-19 public health and safety guidelines. Persons are therefore urged to cooperate with the instructions of security personnel at its locations, to form an orderly line, wear a mask, sanitize their hands and maintain the recommended physical distance of at least 6 feet.

TAJ is however reminding persons that they may opt to avoid a Tax Office visit by conducting several transactions online www.jamaicatax.gov.jm, to include payment for Driver’s Licence renewal, Fitness Certificate, Traffic Ticket, business-related taxes and deductions and Property Tax, as well as electronically querying Property Tax liabilities.

Taxpayers may also avail themselves of a range of online payments options, including making tax payments via the National Commercial Bank, as NCB customers are able to use their online banking platform by adding TAJ as a Payee. Additionally customers are able to make several business payments via the new TAJ Direct Funds Transfer process. These are in addition to customers being able to make payments via the Tax Authority’s website www.jamaicatax.gov.jm using a credit card or other banking card with credit card features or using the Scotiabank’s electronic funds transfer via TAJ’s website.
